What is Paperspace?

Paperspace provides access to persistent cloud-based virtual machines (both cloud desktops or servers) that can be accessed from most web-enabled devices. After an account is created, it takes 3 minutes to provision a brand new machine. Machines can be used to install and run applications as well as store files, browse the web, etc.

Who uses Paperspace?

Paperspace users run the gamut from the casual web surfer to the most serious developers, architects, and gamers. Our machine learning product is used by data scientists, students, researchers, startups, and large enterprise.

What’s the difference between Paperspace and Paperspace for Business?

Paperspace is meant for individuals to run one or more machines.
Paperspace for Business is built for businesses where administrators can manage a group of machines through a centralized interface.

How secure is Paperspace?

Your desktop is managed in a secure data center and the remote connection is fully-encrypted. Visit our security page for more details.

Is the information on my Paperspace machine private?

We care deeply about privacy issues on the web. Paperspace is a ‘zero-knowledge’ company which means we do not have access to your personal information on your Paperspace desktop.

Can I game on Paperspace?

Does Paperspace support Active Directory?

Can I connect my office or existing cloud deployment to my Paperspace machines?

Absolutely. Paperspace for Teams includes the ability to create a secure VPN tunnel between your office and your Paperspace network. Visit our enterprise page to learn more.

Billing

How much does Paperspace cost?

What’s the difference between Hourly and Monthly billing?

Hourly: You are charged an hourly rate when the machine is running and a flat subscription rate per month to cover your storage.
Monthly: Monthly plans are a flat rate per month. The monthly price depends on your current plan. Learn more here.

Is there a free trial?

Paperspace currently does not offer free trials. To give Paperspace a try, we suggest getting started with an hourly machine to see if we’re a good fit for you. You can upgrade or cancel your subscription at any time.

When will Paperspace be available outside the US?

Paperspace has three locations -- US East (NY), US West (CA), and Europe (Amsterdam).

What languages does the Paperspace cloud desktop support?

Right now Paperspace only supports English QWERTY layout keyboards, but we are actively working on adding more layouts. Users can use a virtual keyboard to type in other languages and use special characters.

How many Paperspace desktops can I purchase?

As many as you like!

How do I cancel my account?

You can cancel your account anytime through the Console under the Account Info tab.

Do you offer refunds?

No, we do not offer refunds. Please open a support ticket if there are extenuating circumstances.

What form of payments do you accept?

We accept Visa, MasterCard, American Express and Discover.

Technical

How fast does my internet need to be to access a Paperspace cloud desktop?

90% of broadband connections in the US are fast enough. We recommend about 10-15Mbps download speed and less than 60 ms of latency. Check your speed for free at speedtest.net

Where do I access my machine?

You can access your machine at www.paperspace.com/account/login

What software can I use?

Your Paperspace cloud desktop is just like any other computer except that it lives in the cloud. You can install anything you want--it’s your personal machine. We are working to offer machines with pre-installed software and on-demand licensing in the future.

What devices can I use to access my machine?

Paperspace is accessed from a web browser or our native application. Rule of thumb: If the device can stream a Netflix video, it can run Paperspace. We currently do not support tablets or touch screens, but stay tuned!

What operating systems are available on Paperspace?

Paperspace offers a number of operating systems and templates including Windows 7 (running as Windows Server 2008), Windows 10 (running as Windows Server 2016), and Ubuntu 14.04 and 16.04.

Do you have a native application?

Yes! Our native app runs on Mac, Windows and Linux and can be downloaded from here.
